Independent urban information for clearer travel decisions.

Lunathrawell is an independent source of locally researched urban information for people navigating a city in real life.
‍
The system is built around verified sources, local knowledge, and practical context. It helps visitors understand their options, the conditions attached to them, and the compromises that may affect their decisions.

Lunathrawell is not a conventional travel guide, a Top 10 list, or a catalogue of venues. It does not tell people what is “best” or choose for them. Instead, it presents structured information that helps users make their own decisions.

There are no promotional placements, affiliate links, or sponsorships. No venue, provider, or commercial partner can pay to be included or receive editorial preference.

Why Lunathrawell exists

More information does not always create more clarity

Travelers now have access to an enormous amount of information before making a trip. Research by Expedia Group and Luth Research found that, on average, travelers spend 303 minutes - more than five hours - consuming travel content and view 141 travel-related pages during the 45 days before booking.
‍
The result is not necessarily confidence. It is often more searching, more comparison, and more uncertainty.

Different sources present different parts of reality. Search engines optimise visibility. Social media rewards attention. Venue pages present their own offers. Travel platforms organise information around bookings. Each source may be useful, but none is designed to provide a complete, independent view of what a visitor can actually expect.

Once visitors arrive in a city, this uncertainty often becomes a simple human question:
“Do you live here?”
“Where would you go?”
“What would you recommend?”
These questions are not only requests for a list. They are requests for trusted local context.

Lunathrawell was created to provide that context in a more structured form. Local research, verified information, practical conditions, limitations, and relevant compromises are brought together so visitors can understand their options and make their own decisions.

The system does not choose on the visitor’s behalf. It makes the decision easier to understand.

How Lunathrawell works

Lunathrawell reaches visitors through trusted local entry points.
A hospitality partner introduces the system to guests through a QR code. The partner provides access and local trust; Lunathrawell provides the information. No partner is responsible for researching, editing, or maintaining the content.
‍
The visitor’s journey is simple:
Scan the QR code → Open the web page → Choose an interest or question → Explore the information

Each Pack follows a consistent structure, making different options easier to understand and compare. Relevant factors may include time, cost, access, practical conditions, limitations, and potential compromises.

The content is built from official sources and interpreted through local knowledge. Research is carried out with the practical reality of the city in mind, not only with information copied from general travel platforms.

Some Packs also contain map-based lists and links to verified venues or providers.
Their inclusion is governed by a defined Inclusion Rule:
“All featured providers and venues are vetted for operational reliability, pricing integrity, and category relevance. Our selections are strictly independent, with zero paid placements or ‘tourist trap’ affiliations.”
This rule applies independently of any partnership. A venue or provider cannot receive editorial preference, guaranteed inclusion, or a higher position because of a commercial relationship.

The links are included as independently researched information and practical navigation tools - not as advertisements, recommendations, or paid placements.
The visitor remains free to choose. Lunathrawell’s role is to make the available information clearer, more comparable, and easier to use.

Try Lunathrawell with your guests

Selected hospitality partners can take part in a two-month pilot.

During the pilot period, your guests receive access to the full Budapest system at no cost. Access is opened through a simple email entry - no payment or subscription is required.

Lunathrawell provides the QR materials and printed marketing flyers, including their production. The partner’s role is simply to make the QR code visible and introduce it to guests in one or two sentences as a useful way to explore Budapest.

Over the two months, both sides can observe how guests respond to the system and whether they find the information genuinely useful.

The pilot is exploratory and carries no pressure or obligation to continue. After the pilot, the results can be reviewed together and a further cooperation can be discussed only if the system creates clear value for both the guests and the partner.

Illuminate what matters.

World map with glowing blue and green lights highlighting major cities and populated areas globally against a black background.
Every illuminated point on the map represents a city built into the Lunathrawell system - researched locally, structured consistently, and maintained for practical use.

Budapest is the first point on the map. Additional cities will be added gradually as the model is tested and local Keepers join the network.

The Keeper Program

A Keeper is a local editor who understands a city from within. Keepers research and maintain their city’s Packs, combining local knowledge with official sources and Lunathrawell’s common standards.
This allows every city to retain its local character while remaining part of a consistent, independent information system.

Our long-term position

Our ambition is to become the system travelers instinctively turn to when planning and navigating a city - alongside Booking.com for accommodation and Skyscanner for flights.
While one helps travelers arrange accommodation and another helps them compare flights, Lunathrawell is being built to support the wider destination-planning journey - from deciding whether Budapest is the right city for them, through preparing for the trip, to understanding how to make informed decisions once they arrive.
