Other museums offering discounts
Budapest Card discounts: The vast majority of the museums and galleries listed (e.g., Hungarian National Gallery, Museum of Fine Arts, Hungarian National Museum, Ludwig Museum, Capa Center) offer free entry with a valid Budapest Card. An exception is the House of Terror Museum, which does not offer free entry but provides a 20% discount on the standard ticket. (For information on the card's overall value, refer to the section on Tickets & Passes).
Ticket system: Temporary exhibitions often require a separate, higher-priced ticket; the basic ticket for the permanent exhibition is not always valid for these.
Dining: The majority of museums do not have their own hot-food restaurants, only smaller cafés. For longer visits, planning meals in advance outside the museum may become necessary.
Constructions: Due to the large-scale state construction projects taking place in the Buda Castle Palace, the accessibility of the entrances to the National Gallery and the Budapest History Museum, as well as the surrounding pedestrian routes, may change periodically.
