Dress code:
Budapest is fundamentally a very relaxed, informal city (casual). There are no strict dress codes for everyday sightseeing, ruin bars, and most restaurants. More elegant attire (smart casual) is typically only expected in premium cocktail bars, fine dining restaurants, the Opera House, or mainstream nightclubs, where security staff may turn away guests in sportswear.
Weather anomalies:
The transitional seasons (April-May and September-October) can be highly unpredictable. Summer-like days above 25°C (77°F) can occur, but so can sudden temperature drops and prolonged rain. Preparing for both extremes during these months provides a logistical advantage.
